Atletico Madrid vs Las Palmas

Enrique Cerezo, the Atletico Madrid president, welcomed Hollywood star Matt Damon to city, presenting him with a printed shirt, the star giving an 'Aupa Atleti' and saying that los rojiblancos "remind me of my home team the Boston Red Sox".

Damon was in Madrid to promote his new 'Jason Bourne' film, but after the event journalists were much more concerned about Atletico's summer business: Antoine Griezmann, Luciano Vietto, Kevin Gameiro, Diego Costa, Gimenez, and Borja Bastón.

Griezmann and Gameiro

"Griezmann can win the Ballon d'Or", said the Atleti boss about the French Euro 2016 golden boot winner, also stating that while Sevilla's Kevin Gameiro was a "great player", they still had Griezmann who the team could rely on, and saw no great need for new signings.

Luciano Vietto

With much speculation about the future of Argentine Luciano Vietto, Cerezo aimed to quell rumours of a definitive departure; "Vietto is going to be here with the team for years to come"

While Matt Damon was present trying to promote the fifth in the 'Jason Bourne' season, the reporters pressed on with questions about the transfer market.

A striker

Identifying Atleti's key area where they need to strengthen, Cerezo was pressed on who would be wearing the number 9 and providing the goals for Atletico next season: "There's plenty of summer left, you'll just have to wait a bit, we're working on it", he responded.

Diego Costa

Still not satisifed, the press pack asked if Chelsea player Diego Costa was going to be brought back to the Vicente Calderón: "It's possible, everything is possible in life and football". With Mauro Icardi closer to a renewal with Inter Milan, a Costa return may become even more possible, but Cerezo claimed to know nothing about it:

"I have no idea. The team is trying to bring in good players to cover the positions we need to cover, and that's what we're doing", he said.

Gimenez

As for departures, Cerezo was confident that the Uruguayan defender José María Giménez would continue at the club, despite links to Real Madrid. "I think he'll still be dressed in red and white next season, he's happy and settled here".

Borja Bastón

Atleti striker Borja Bastón, who shone at Basque giant-killers Eibar last season also came up in the conversation, Cerezo saying that "he's still an Atleti player", despite heavy links with Mallaga.
