Danilo, man of the match against Bayern

Real Madrid beat Bayern Munich 1-0 in New Jersey, with Danilo scoring the goal and picking up the man of the match award.

Real Madrid, flying home from the USA

The game against Bayern puts an end to Real Madrid's pre-season tour. The team flew out of New York after the match and were expected to arrive in Madrid at 13:00. Their next game is the UEFA Super Cup, against Sevilla.

Cristiano Ronaldo, could miss Liga openers

Ronaldo is back with Real Madrid on 10 August (after the UEFA Super Cup). During his month long holiday he's been treated for the twisted knee he suffered in the final of the European Championships, but even then he might well be going to miss the first two Liga matches.

Bale, in line for salary bump

Madrid have started talks with Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett to extend Bale's contract, from the current 2019 to 2021. Under the new contract Bale is likely to see his salary increased from nine million euros to 10 million. That would put him second on the Real Madrid salary scale, ahead of Ramos and behind only Ronaldo.

Isco, waiting for Zidane to decide

Zidane is a fan of Isco, but the midfielder from Málaga is in a complicated position at Madrid. His contract is up in 2018, meaning the club should be starting renewal talks now if they don't want him to be in the final year of his contract next year. But rising star Asensio, who Zidane is also very keen on, means it might be Isco who doesn't fit into the squad.

Zidane has said he'll take decisions because "it's hard to fit all the players in", meaning Madrid need to decide sooner rather than later if they start contract renewal talks with Isco, or make it be known they'd like to talk to potential buyers...
