When is the Champions League group stage draw?
The Champions League 2016/17 draw takes place on the 25 August 2016 in Monaco at 18:00 (CET)
How does the draw work?
- The 22 teams who automatically qualified for the draw will be joined by the ten play-off winners.
- Pot 1 will be comprised of the current holders and the champions of the top seven associations: (Spain, Germany, England, Italy, Portugal, France and Russia) while the other pots are decided by club coefficient ranking.
- Teams cannot play any other other club from the same association
- The draw ceremony also includes the presentation of the 2015/16 UEFA Best Player in Europe Awards

The television rights holders of the Champions League in some countries will show it live on their TV channel or through their website. However, wherever you are in the world you will be able to watch the draw through UEFA's official website.
