Cristiano and Benzema finally join rest of team for training
The two Real Madrid forwards, alongside Fabio Coentrao, took a big step in their comebacks from injury as they joined the rest of the squad for training on Tuesday
Although Zinedine Zidane has been left to prepare for Real Madrid’s next La Liga game (Osasuna, 10 September) without some 14 first team members who’ve joined up with their international sides this week, on Tuesday there were some notable additions to the team’s training session as the squad returned following a two-day rest.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Fabio Coentrao all joined the rest of the group for the session as the three continue to recover from their respective injuries. Isco however – who is linked with a possible move away from the club – trained in the gym due to a knock on his ankle.
Cristiano, Benzema and Coentrao all took part in the first half of training before exercising on their own for the second half.
International break
The players absent from the session due to their international call ups were: Ramos, Carvajal, Asensio, Morata y Lucas Vázquez (Spain), Casemiro, Marcelo (Brazil), Kovacic, Modric (Croatia), Kroos (Germany), Pepe (Portugal), Varane (France), James (Colombia) and Bale (Wales).
