Atlético Madrid’s Champions League campaign begins
As Atlético Madrid prepare to set off for Eindhoven on Monday lunchtime, Diego Simeone released his squad sheet for his side’s first Champions League clash of the season. El Cholo's 19-strong squad will not feature either Thomas or Vrsaljko for technical reasons, while Moyá and Cerci are ruled out through injury.
Limited playing time
Thomas has barely featured for Los Rojiblancos this season, nor has Vrsaljko, one of the club’s new summer signings. Despite Atlético’s impressive 4-0 against Celta on Saturday, Simeone is due to rotate in order to freshen up the squad.
