Ancelotti takes dig at Florentino's understanding of football

Former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti told L'Equipe that current club Bayern Munich is run by ex-footballers who understand the game better

Update:
Ancelotti takes dig at Florentino's understanding of football

In an interview with L’Equipe, former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti took a thinly-veiled dig at Los Blancos president Florentino Perez.

Some days ago, Ancelotti – who is now at Bayern Munich – admitted that the difference between his current club and ones that he has managed at before is that where Bayern feels like it’s a family, others felt more like a business.

So when L’Equipe pushed the topic even further by asking Ancelotti about the specific differences between the Bavarian outfit and Real Madrid, the Italian answered: “They are quite similar as clubs, but perhaps the difference between them is that one is directed by an ex-footballer and he understands what happens better.”

Ancelotti opens up to AS

Earlier this month, Ancelotti opened up to AS about his sacking from the Bernabéu and generally spoke positively about Real Madrid and Florentino Perez.

“When I came to Madrid I knew that one day I’d have to leave,” said Ancelotti. “For a coach, the experience of managing Madrid is unique, and for that I have to give thanks to Florentino. He signed me and we won La Décima. I learned some time ago that being let go is part of the job. I have good memories of Madrid, from the president down to the people who worked there.”
