LaLiga matchday 6: AS English predicts

Non stop LaLiga, no sooner has week five finished but week six gets underway with Betis-Malaga and ends with Granada at Alaves.

Update:
LaLiga matchday 6: AS English predicts

Our weekly look at the AS English crystal ball as we attempt to predict the outcome of this weekend's LaLiga fixtures:

Real Betis v Malaga

An opportunity for old Tottenham boss Juande Ramos and his then number two Gus Poyet to re-unite at the Benito Villamarin in a draw that will really be of little to either side in their respective slow starts to the 2016/17 campaign.

Eibar v Real Sociedad

One of the many Basque derbies we'll have in the top flight this season with Alaves joining LaLiga party. Ninth plays Eighth in LaLiga in a draw that will keep the fans happy.

Sporting v Barcelona

A four nil reverse and a late defeat to Celta midweek have grounded any season optimism for Abelardo's men and Sporting supporters. The visit of the Catalan giants will be a bridge too far for the Asturians with Luis Enrique anxious to push on from the midweek draw against Atleti behind him.

Athletic v Sevilla

Sevilla remain one of LaLiga's four unbeaten sides and currently lie second in the table after four rounds of games. Athletic have made an erratic start and are set to secure their first draw of the campaign this weekend.

Las Palmas v Real Madrid

Early season surprise pack Las Palmas came crashing down to earth with a bang midweek in San Sebastian suffering a shock 4-1 reverse. Last season the Canary Islanders outplayed Madrid and were unlucky not to secure any points with Casemiro bagging an 89th winner for the visitors.

Leganes v Valencia

New comers Leganes have been another surprise package in the top flight and currently lie mid-table on 7 points. Has Voro kick-started the Valencia revival? The win and attitude against Alaves suggest that that the wind of (positive) change may be blowing at Mestalla.

Atletico v Deportivo

A hard fought point at Camp Nou contrasted with Depor slipping up in the Garitano v Garitano clash as Leganes left Riazor with maximum points midweek. Despite the Bayern game lurking on Wednesday for Simeone's men expect the home side will have too much for the Galicians.

Villarreal v Osasuna

It's the side from Pamplona struggling of the three promoted side with "Los Rojillos" currently rooted at the foot of LaLiga table. More woe for the Navarran side in store on Sunday.

Espanyol v Celta

A much changed Espanyol side finally secured their first win of the season on Thursday night and Quique Sanchez Flores' side should push on against the Galician side who too managed to pick up their debut win of the 2016/17 campaign midweek.

Alaves v Granada

Paco Jemez is now treading water and his Granada experiment has yet to offer dividends. Along with Osasuna the Andalusian side are win-less in the current season and that tendency is unlikely to change with the visit to Vitoria on Monday.
