Rangers' Scottish Premiership win over Partick Thistle on Saturday afternoon was marred by a coach crash which has left one dead and multiple others injured.

Bus crashed taking supporters to match

The incident occurred when the vehicle, carrying Rangers 36 fans plus the driver, overturned in East Ayrshire to the south of Glasgow en route to the match at Ibrox.

According to witnesses of the accident, which happened at about 13:15 BST, the coach swerved near a roundabout before landing on its side on a grass verge.

One dead, 18 taken to hospital

Police Scotland have confirmed that a 39-year-old man has died from the crash, with a further 18 people hospitalised, three of which with serious injuries.

Rangers offer sympathies to victims

Rangers later released a statement saying they were "deeply saddened" by news of the accident.

"Our profound condolences go to the gentleman who has died and our thoughts are with his family," the club continued.

"We are also thinking of those who have been injured and taken to hospital."
