Alvaro Morata: better average strike rate than the 'BBC'
The 24 year old scores every 136 minutes of playing time that he is awarded by Zidane and is currently more effective in front of goal than Bale, Benzema and Cristiano.
Alvaro Morata is showing just why Real Madrid spent 30 million euro on bringing the striker back from Serie A side Juventus. Despite not being first choice forward for Zidane, something the 24 year old accepts: “That's the way things are and something I need to get on with". The Madrid born forward is joint top scorer in the Real Madrid squad on four goals, tied with Cristiano, Benzema, Bale and other early season revelation Marco Asensio. However in terms if efficiency, Morata shines, scoring a goal every 136 minutes ahead of Benzema (174’), Cristiano (192’) and Bale (224’).
Decisive
Morata's goals have also been instrumental in securing valuable points for Real Madrid this season. His late goal on Sunday secured maximum points for Zidane's side and he popped up in key moments of games against Sporting de Portugal in the Champions League (2-1) and was on target in the LaLiga win over Celta (2-1).
Sharp-shooter
Morata, also needs less opportunities to score than his striking colleagues. The Spanish international scores with every five shots whilst Benzema needs 6.5, Bale (8.2) and Cristiano (10.7).
Morata "No.12"
The player is being used in a "super-sub" capacity by Zidane this season and has played 544 minutes from the bench and is the only player to feature in every official match this season for Real Madrid. Upon siging for Madrid he commented: “I've spoken with Zidane and he's told me that i will be one of his key players this season”. At present despite his impressive level of efficiency, the 24 year old is still behind the Bale, Benzema and Cristiano trident in Zidane's first choice Real Madrid team-sheet.
