Suárez, Rakitic: Barcelona duo closing in on new contracts
Uruguayan ace Luis Suárez could even put pen to paper on renewed terms with the Spanish champions as soon as next week. Sporting vs Barcelona
Luis Suárez and Ivan Rakitic are the next players in line to sign new contracts at Barcelona, with the club aiming to tie the pair down before the end of 2016.
Suárez could renew next week
Deals with Suárez and Rakitic would follow the recent extensions penned by colleagues Sergio Busquets, Javier Mascherano and Neymar.
Striker Suárez could even finalise the renewal of his present Camp Nou terms - which are due to expire in 2019 - as early as next week.
Rakitic keen to extend Barcelona stay
Meanwhile, talks have been ongoing with Rakitic for some months, as reports link the Croat with several European suitors, including Manchester United.
But the midfielder, whose current Barça agreement also runs out in 2019, has let his representatives know he has no plans to leave, and is set to commit.
Ter Stegen, Roberto, Iniesta and Messi up next
Following Suárez and Rakitic, Los Azulgranas are expected to move to secure Marc-André ter Stegen, Sergi Roberto, Andrés Iniesta and Leo Messi.
