Conor McGregor's spell as the first two-division champion in the history of the UFC has come to an abrupt end after the Irishman vacated his featherweight title, allowing Jose Aldo reclaim the belt.

McGregor had previously said he did not want to give up either title.

McGregor needs time off

"He's good. He should take time off," White said about McGregor.

"He has been fighting nonstop. Nothing wrong with him taking time off. It's good for him and [girlfriend Dee Devlin], and it's good for the baby."

He won the featherweight crown by defeating Brazilian Aldo in 13 seconds at UFC 194 last December. Aldo has since asked for his release from the company after not getting a rematch in what was a huge, and ultimately very short fight between the pair with McGregor knocking the Brazilian out after a number of seconds.
