Their match report following Sevilla's late 2-1 win over Zidane's side at the Sanchez Pizjuan was relayed with more than just a dose of irony focusing on the player's love of his former club:

"Sevilla fans have got reason to be overjoyed today after one of their very own, Sergio Ramos, demonstrated his love for the team by showing supporters at the stadium just how much he cares for his old team last night. The defender from Camas helped Sevilla in the title race by assisting his former side and defying his paymasters by tying the match last night with a fine header".
