Barcelona don't lose when Luis Suárez scores
Such a talisman has become the Uruguayan that his scoring attributes are becoming relative to the team's success. He is also very much in the running for the Pichichi.
The Catalan talisman
An article written on the FC Barcelona website highlights some interesting facts about their Uruguayan striker, Luis Suárez, most notably that when he has scored in a game for the Catalan club, the team has not lost.
This may be considered a fairly understandable statistic, given that Barcelona win the majority of their games anyway, but it is interesting nonetheless and may be something that is on the mind of Luis Enrique when choosing who to rest during the second half of the season. However, not losing is one thing, winning all three points is what is going to matter if last year's Liga champions are to retain the title.
Pushing for Pichichi
Suárez' last gasp goal against Real Betis in Sunday's lunchtime game took him top of the scorers charts - one ahead of teammate Lionel Messi and three ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo - and he is a very likley candidate for the Pichichi award come the end of the season. That goal also puts Betis joint-top of the striker's most punished sides (7), along with Sporting. Looking at his career in Spain as a whole, and it's clear that his goals are important to the side. Of the 125 matches that he has been involved in, he has scored in 67 of them (53%) - and not been on the losing side. 63 of those games resulted in wins.
Next up is Atlético Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg.
