Álvaro Morata put Real Madrid against Espanyol today just after the half an hour mark and in doing so ensured that the current LaLiga leaders have found the target now on 42 consecutive games beating the previous club record of 41 held by the teams managed by Jose Mourinho, Leo Beenhakker and Juan Antonio Ipiña (1952-53).

The last time Zidane's men failed to hit the target in a competitive match was in April 2016 when they drew 0-0 against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Real Madrid have bagged a staggering 106 goals this season so far (in all competitions), 56 of those on LaLiga with Cristiano Ronaldo the club's leading marksman on 21 goals.
