Gareth Bale: Real Madrid man handed two-match ban

Gareth Bale has been handed a two-match suspension for his sending-off in Real Madrid's LaLiga clash with Las Palmas on Wednesday evening.

Dismissed in midweek LaLiga draw

The Welshman was shown a straight red card in the 3-3 draw at the Santiago Bernabéu for a second-half shove on Las Palmas player Jonathan Viera.

The ruling by the Spanish Football Federation's disciplinary committee means Bale is to miss Real's top-flight fixtures at Eibar and at home to Real Betis.

Los Merengues visit Eibar this Saturday and host Betis on Sunday 12 March.

Real Madrid appeal rejected

Madrid lodged an appeal against the two-game ban in the wake of the committee's decision, but saw their challenge turned down.
