Harry Winks set for shock Spain call-up? Er, it appears not

Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Winks has been linked with a surprise call-up by Spain, with the 2010 World Cup winners claimed to be looking into his eligibility.
Winks for Spain?!
The 21-year-old midfielder has impressed for Tottenham this season, making 19 Premier League appearances for Mauricio Pochettino's second-placed side.
And, citing "reports from Spain", the Daily Mirror said on Monday that Hemel Hempstead-born Winks has Spanish grandparents and is being tracked by La Roja.

Ah, hold on...
However, UK-based Spanish journalist Guillem Balagué says that it is Winks' great grandparents - not his grandparents - who are from the country.
This would mean that the Spurs youth product, who made his England Under-21 debut in a friendly against France in November, is not Spanish qualified.

Balagué also reports that the RFEF are fully aware that Winks is ineligible for consideration by national coach Julen Lopetegui.
On Harry Winks. His great grandparents (not his grandparents) are Spanish which doesn't qualify him 2 play for Spain. The Spanish FA know it
