Walter Montoya: "Monchi knows what's best for him"
The Argentine winger was one of the last transfers the Director of Sport brought in at Sevilla and says he is slowly adapting to live in LaLiga.
Walter Montoya was one of the last reinforcements which Monchi brought in to strengthen the Sevilla squad during the last transfer window in January. The Argentine winger, who signed a four and a half year deal from Rosario Central, has barely figured for Jorge Sampaoli's side, having clocked under an hour's playing time in two outings. But the player is confident that he will he handed more responsibilities as LaLiga enters the final stretch.
Sevilla players don't interfere in Monchi's career decision
Montoya spoke today about Sevilla's long-serving Technical Secretary Monchi who is expected to be moving on to pastures new this summer, joining AS Roma's technical department: "It's a personal issue, it's not something which the players talk about. It's nothing to do with us. I am sure that Monchi knows what is best for him. I don't know what is going to happen, so I can't really comment".
As for his own situation, Montoya added: "I have to give my best for the team and show what I am capable of out on the field of play. But I am feeling more settled with each day. Ask any Argentine footballer and they'll tell you they would love to come here and triumph at Sevilla. It's a great club. Any player would like it here".
