Barça defend Piqué for Real Madrid comments: "He didn't tell a lie.."
Barcelona have thrown their weight behind Gerard Piqué and said that they are a club that wants the truth and are on Pique's side after his comments about Real MadridBarcelona v. Murcia Live
"From what I could read and hear, Gerard Piqué did not tell a lie and Barça are always on the side of the truth," said Cardoner. "Usually, the truth doesn't have to start conflict and what I said has a clear reading. Piqué expressed a free opinion and we are in favour of the freedom of expression. Such clarity can offend, but he said it in a very clear manner," he continued.
Cardoner went on to say that Barça's values can be seen in the history of Barcelona. "What you put into practice is how you define values and there is a library of newspapers to understand the club [Barcelona] and its football. An incomparable type of football."
Piqué's comments
It was in the the mixed zone after Spain had beaten France in an international friendly when Piqué said, "I've nothing against Real Madrid players but there are other things about the club that I don't like. It wrangles with me to see the individual who is involved with the indictment of Messi and Neymar sitting in the VIP section of the Santaigo Bernabeu stadium."
