Zidane on Raúl: "This is his home"
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane spoke about Raúl's return to the club as his side prepare to face Alavés, he also said he'll never manage Barça
Zinedine Zidane spoke about Raúl's return to the Bernabéu in the press conference ahead of Los Blancos' match with Alavéz.
Real Madrid is his home
"It is his home here. As a player, he is emblematic of the club. I'll be happy if he returns. If he can do something big at Madrid, then I'll be delighted," Zidane said, "I don't know when it's going to happen", he added.
The French coach was asked about the idea of the legendary Spaniard following in his footsteps.
"I don't doubt Raúl's commitment to Madrid. I am happy that he'll return to the club, and that is it," he said, "I can't tell you how things will end up, he'll be able to tell you that when he arrives at the club."
Barcelona? No thanks.
Zidane batted away a more left-field question during the pre-match press conference.
He also made it absolutely clear that he will never manage Barcelona. The Real Madrid boss was unequivocal when asked about taking the reigns at Camp Nou: "No... you already have your headline for tomorrow".
