Ex-Barça player Sergi Barjuán to replace Javier Olaizola as Mallorca coach
The club announced on Tuesday night that the Basque coach has been sacked from the position with the form Barça player coming in as his replacement.
Sergi Barjuán will be officially presented as new coach at RCD Mallorca tomorrow. The former Barcelona and Atlético player replaces Javier Olaizola, who was handed his notice this evening following a poor run of results which has left the islanders second from bottom in LaLiga 1|2|3 and five points from safety.

Mallorca, three coaches this season
Sergi will become Mallorca's third coach this season following Fernando Vázquez who was sacked after Week 17 and Olaizola. Back then, Mallorca were 17th in the table and out of the danger zone. But in the 15 games since then, the team has only managed two wins, six draws and seven defeats.
In a statement, Mallorca said that they and Olaizola will be studying the possibility of the Basque coach remaining at the club in a professional capacity but in a different role.
