Bayern lodge official complaint over police charge in Bernabéu
The Bundesliga club have issued a statement terming the actions of Spanish police in Madrid "completely out of place and disproportionate."
Bayern Munich have filed an official complaint with Uefa over the actions of Spanish police officers during the match against Real Madrid in the Bernabéu on Tuesday night.
"Strong attacks by Spanish police"
“During half time of the match between FC Bayern and Real Madrid there were strong attacks by Spanish police against supporters of FC Bayern,” the club said in a statement on their website. “FC Bayern considers the actions of the Spanish police completely out of place and disproportionate and the club has lodged a complaint with Uefa.”
Bayern are also to seek explanations from Spanish police chiefs as to what occurred in the stadium. The incidents took place at the end of the first half when police waded into the Bayern supporters in the away end. Sky Germany broadcast the scenes and described the police’s handling of the situation as “completely excessive.”
