80, 90, 100 million euros... Madrid want to scare off the other clubs", says the French paper, with the striker rapidly becoming the galáctico of 2017Valencia vs Real Madrid live online: LaLiga
How much is Mbappé worth? Just 18 and in the space of a few short months, Kylian Mbappé has become one of the most sought after players in the market, and as French paper L'Equipe point out, only the very biggest clubs are going to be able to sign the Monaco prodigy: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and Manchester United.
Mbappé has a contract to June 2019 and was valued at around 10 million euros... before his footballing explosion saw his people start to talk about him as a "100 million euros man (at least), according to L'Equipe.
Mbappé value could be through the roof
The president of PSG, Nasser al-Khelafi, had talked in private about the player being worth some 40 million euros, taking into account his future, his experience at the highest level, his age, status and length of his contract. But other experts consulted by L'Equipe put his value far higher, on the grounds that he is an exceptional case, some indeed say he's worth more than Pogba who cost Manchester United 105 million euros in the summer of 2016.
"He's young and an out and out goalscorer, leading to our estimation of a value between 120 and 140 million. It's a huge amount, but no more so than what United paid for Pogba or Barcelona for Neymar", says Michael Rablat, Everton scout.
A French agent who works at Wasserman, an English agency, says Mbappé's transfer is going to break all records: "HIs games against City and Dortmund show he's capable of performing and making a difference against the big clubs".
Pasacal Boisseau, advisor to Rudi García and Kevin Gameiro, says: "There are only four clubs in the world who can pay what Mbappé will cost: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and Manchester United.
Mbappé: 23 goals and semi-finals of the Champions League
Mbappé has exploded onto the scene this season, with 23 goals. 13 in the the French league, 5 in the Champions League, 3 in the League Cup and 2 in the French Cup. Added to that are 11 assists in his 37 games. And his best shop window has been the Champions League, thanks to his goals and because alongside Falcao, Bakayoko, Fabinho, Lemar and co. he's taken Monaco to a Champions League semi-final against Juventus. Monaco, who had to qualify for the group stage against Villarreal, are this season's surprise outfit.
Mbappé with Real Madrid
The images of a young Mbappé proudly wearing the Real Madrid shirt at Valdebebás, and of his room with posters of his hero Cristiano Ronaldo, plus his admiration for Zinedine Zidane all explain his desire to play at the Spanish giants one day. And its a mutual desire right now, with L'Equipe saying: "Real Madrid are ready to go crazy for the French striker"
The French paper discusses other huge transfer deals done by Florentino Pérez since he signed Luis Figo in 2000, and says that landing Mbappé would be a statement ahead of Pérez standing for re-election as Real Madrid president in the summer. L'Equipo also mentions the transfer of James for 85 million euros from Monaco in 2014, an operation that could serve as a precedent for Mbappé's transfer to the Spanish capital.
