Atlético fans pull out Calderón seats after Real Madrid win
Hundreds of rojiblancos seemed to have wanted a momento of their stadium following the final European match on the Manzanares. Shame there's still a league match to goReal Madrid - Alavés: LaLiga 2017-18
It was an historic night at the Estadio Vicente Calderón in Madrid as Atlético played their final European match in front of their fans in this iconic venue. Soon it will be turned to rubble as the club moves to a new home at the Wanda Metropolitano and therefore, as emotions ran high, it was understandable that some fans decided to take home seats as souvenirs.
Bilbao still to come in LaLiga
Those emotions seem to have affected the supporters' memories, however, as the 2-1 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final (unfortunately for them not enough to reach the final) was not the team's last home game of the season. Following a trip to Seville to play Real Betis the rojiblancos will end their time at the Calderón by welcoming Athletic Bilbao on May 21. Oh dear.
Copa final and concerts at the Calderón
Not only that but the Copa del Rey final between Barcelona and Alavés is scheduled to be played there on Saturday 27 May and that is to be followed by an Atleti legends vs current team charity game on the 28 May. There is also the small matter of a the Guns N' Roses and Alejandro Sanz concerts which are to be held in June.
Maybe there'll just have to be more standing allocation.
