Real Madrid to recieve offers of 180M€ for Cristiano Ronaldo
The portuguese paper A Bolo reported on Wednesday that Los Blancos can expect to be sent eye-watering offers for their star name from France, England and China.
The Portuguese press have put aside their normal coverage of their home teams to focus on their national idol, Cristiano Ronaldo. A Bola led with the line "The biggest sensation of the transfer market"on Wednesday, as incredible offers will apparently be made to Real Madrid for their star man.
Cristiano interest in France, England and China
Los Blancos can expect offers in the region of 180 million euros this summer if the reports are accurate. This dizzying amount would blow the current world record transfer - that of Paul Pogba to Manchester United in 2016 - out of the water. And it seems as though there are several teams interested with the paper claiming the offers would be received from France, England and China for the 32-year old.
PSG and Monaco have the spending power
There are two clubs in France with the economic capacity to even consider this move: PSG and Monaco. Since the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic the French giants have not found a figure head and the Portuguese superstar would certainly fill that void. Missing out on the title this year will prompt sheikh Al-Khelaifi to make a statement of intent and money is expected to be sent. Their rivals Monaco, who took Ligue 1 away from Paris, could also be in the mix of this Cristiano discussion, especially if they were to lose their rapidly rising Kylian Mbappé, with it being suggested that Madrid could offer 135 million euros.
A return to Manchester United for Ronaldo
As for England, a return to Old Trafford for Cristiano would be the most likely destination, according to A Bola. Manchester United squeezed in the back door of Champions League qualification for the upcoming season after winning the Europa League without facing any of Europe's top teams. A sixth-placed finish in the Premier League is not good enough for a club of their status and José Mourinho needs to strengthen once again. The Antoine Griezmann snub has changed the target plan of the Red Devils and, althouhg it may seem unlikely, another world record bid could be on their agenda.
Chinese Super League: finance over competition
Finally, the money in the Chinese Super League could be tempting, as it has been to others. Fantastical sums have been paid out for less than fantastic players as the nation tries to change the perception and increase the prestige of the sport, but each player knows that what they would gain financially would be offset by the level of competition.
Whatever happens this summer, Madridistas should be able to rest easy as Cristiano has stated that he is not interested in even listening to any offer. His plan seems to be as it was a few months ago when he said: "I intend to retire at Real Madrid when I'm 41."
