Wolfsburg have confirmed the return of Borja Mayoral to his parent club, Real Madrid, on Twitter. His loan deal with the club expires on June 30th.

"Thank you, cowboy! Borja Mayoral returns to Real Madrid. Thank you for your stint, our friend Borja, we wish you all the best!" said the tweet confirming Mayoral's return to the Spanish capital. The Real Madrid canterano played in 21 games and averaged only 20.2 minutes per appearance and he scored two goals. It was a deal that bore less fruit than the German club and the Spanish one had hoped. it was not helped by the crisis that overcame the club during the season that almost saw the club relegated to the second division. It was a situation that also greatly upset those at the Bernabeu.

His future looks white

As Madrid recover one of the cantera's gems, Mayoral could be set to replace Mariano Diaz in the first squad at the request of Zinedine Zidane. Mariano is set to leave the club this summer.
