Arda Turan's agent: "Nobody's told us that he is up for sale"
Ahmet Bulut: "Our plan is for Arda to continue next season but if Barça tell us that they don't count on him then that's a different story".
Arda Turan's agent Ahmet Bulut denied today that the midfielder is on Barcelona's transfer list, and added that nor is the player planning to leave, despite having been used only psaringly by Luis Enrique last season.
Arda, happy at Barcelona and keen to prove himself under Valverde
"Nobody from Barça has been in touch with me to tell me that Arda is on the transfer list. And so as far as we are concerned, he will be continuing next season. As of the moment I have not spoken to any club about him. However, if Barça do turn around as say that they don't count on Arda then that would be a different story", Bulut told Esports COPE today in declarations picked up by Europa Press.
The Turkish midfielder's representative went on to add that Arda Turan still has another three years left on his contract with the Blaugranas. "He's happy at Barcelona. Ok, it's true that last season wasn't an easy one for him, because of injuries and the second half of the campaign wasn't so good... But Arda is happy. And of course, he is pleased that Ernesto Valverde has been appointed - for what he has done as a coach and the career he's had", Bulut continued.
As for Arda's recent declarations that his international career with Turkey is over, the player's agent explained that it was a very difficult decision to make. "He spent a long time going over it and thinking it through and feels that now is the right time to leave the national team; because everyone talks about Arda, Arda, Arda... He felt as though he was constantly in the limelight. What happened? It's a long story. But Arda's fine. The decision has been made and his time with Turley's national team has run its course and is now at an end".
