Juventus have made an opening offer for Lazio forward Keita Baldé as the Serie A champions prepare to go head-to-head with Inter for the Senegal international.

Juve have already added Douglas Costa and Federico Bernardeschi to their attacking options in the summer market but Bianconeri CEO Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed the club’s interest in Baldé to Mediaset Italia: “We have presented an offer to [Lazio president] Claudio Lotito that he should have a look at. We’ll see what happens in the next few days.”

The initial offer is reported to be 15 million euros, according to La Gazzetta, who also state that Juve will turn their attention to Sporting defensive midfielder William Carvalho if their move for PSG and France midfielder Blaise Matuidi does not come to fruition.

Baldé, 22, was born in Girona, Spain, but elected to represent his parental home country at international level. The forward scored 16 goals in 31 league appearances for Lazio last season and has attracted interest not just from Serie A but also LaLiga, with Atlético and Sevilla both keen on the player. The forward made a name for himself last season when he scored the third-fastest hat-trick in Serie A history, hitting three past Palermo in five minutes and 19 seconds.

Baldé’s contact at Lazio expires in June 2018.
