Juventus want to close the exit door on Paulo Dybala for once and for all, and to that end have handed him the ‘10’ shirt. According to la Gazzetta, the evocative shirt number is his to keep.

Dybala a potential Neymar replacement

Barcelona are interested in signing the Argentine forward as a replacement for Neymar, who has joined PSG in a world record transfer.

The Catalan club appear to have fixed their sights on Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho, of Dortmund and Liverpool respectively, yet Dybala remains on the wish-list. The former-Palermo man could count on support from Lionel Messi, who recommended his compatriot as a replacement for the outbound Neymar.

'10' shirt vacant since Pogba departure

Until now, Dybala has worn ‘21’ on his back, despite the fact that the ‘10’ shirt remained unclaimed following Paul Pogba’s departure for Manchester United.

The fact that Juve have endowed Dybala the ‘10’ shirt is a symbolic statement of his importance to the club. Moreover, it is unlikely that Juventus would make that statement, unless they were confident that the player in question will stay.
