Barcelona to pay Jean Michel Seri's buy-out clause

According to Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona will pay Jean Michel Seri's 40 million euro buy-out clause to Nice next Week.
Although in France buy-out clauses are not required by law, the Ivorian midfielder included such a clause in his contract with the club, meaning Nice will be obliged to let him go for that amount.
Seri: Barcelona's plan B this summer
Seri was Barcelona's plan B if they failed to land Verratti from PSG this summer, but he appeared to have fallen off the radar for the Catalan giants despite their apparent inability to make inroads into tempting the Italian midfielder. And now, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have roared back into action on the Seri front and his arrival is a question of days.
Seri: the African Xavi
The Ivorian midfielder is known by some as the African Xavi, and is rated for his stylish football. Even so, his arrival at Barcelona would be a surprise, after the club's technical secretary Robert Fernández appeared to close the door on any more midfield transfer action this summer at the unveiling of Paulinho.
Barcelona summer spending
If Barça do sign Seri they'll have spent 124 million euros of the 222 million they brought in with the sale of Neymar to PSG, without having brought in either Coutinho or Dembélé who they are still pursuing. If Barça pick up either of them their total summer spend could hit over 400 million euros.
Seri would be fighting for a place in an overcrowded midfield, with Sergio Busquets, Sergi Samper, Rakitic, Rafinha, Paulinho, Iniesta, Denis Suárez, André Gomes, Arda Turan all looking for a place...
