Spain and the other national sides with a direct route to Russia
Lopetegui's side booked their place at next year's World Cup with a routine win over Albania, making them the fourth European team to qualify directly.
After a routine win over Albania in Alicante on Friday, Spain were the latest side to book their place at the World Cup in Russia next year, and have now qualified for eleven tournaments on the spin. The win saw Lopetegui's men join 10 other national teams in qualifying for Russia.
Things are hotting up in the South America, and only Brazil have managed to qualify without further ado, sealing their place some months ago. As things stand, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Perú and Argentina are battling it out to see who goes through automatically. Uruguay are currently in second, while Argentina are currently facing the prospect of the play-offs after a 0-0 draw against Peru on Friday.
