Marseille's Patrice Evra was sent off before his team's Europa League clash away to Vitoria Guimaraes on Thursday after kicking out at a fan of his own club. He is likely to now be facing a minimum ban of five games, although it could be far higher.
Evra, 36, had become involved in an argument with Marseille supporters during the warm-up in Portugal, after apparently being subjected to negative chants by the Ligue 1 side's away following.

Images of the incident showed the French defender aiming a kick at a fan's head.
The ex-Manchester United left-back, who joined Marseille from Juventus in January, was among the substitutes for the Group I match.
Minimum five game ban for Evra
Disciplinary proceedings are underway against Evra, with Uefa studying the images of the incident. The outcome is expected in 10 days. The key to the eventual punishment is likely to be in the report filed by the Uefa match delegate to the disciplinary commission.
In general, under article 15 of Uefa's disciplinary code the minimum suspension for attacking a fan would be five games, but the upper limit could be far higher. The fact the fan was allegedly racially abusing Evra could be taken as an exonerating circumstance.
If Uefa were to take as a reference point the ban handed to Cantona for kicking a fan, in January 1995, the ban could be lengthy. Cantona was suspended for nine months.
