Real Madrid: Varane in fitness race for Las Palmas game
Zinedine Zidane's squad returned to training after the Champions League defeat against Tottenham to prepare for the visit of the struggling islanders.
Real Madrid returned to training on Thursday after suffering a first group stage loss in five years in the Champions League against Spurs at Wembley to begin preparations for the visit of Las Palmas to the Bernabéu on Sunday evening.
According to the club’s website, those players who started the match against Tottenham were handed a light session with youth team players Moha, Darío and Sergio Arribas joining the senior squad.
Varane back in training
The players were put through their paces with ball work, mini-games and drills involving pressing and crosses. Gareth Bale, Mateo Kovacic, Dani Carvajal, Luca Zidane and Keylor Navas all continued their various recovery programmes while Raphael Varane returned to the Valdebebas training pitches as he seeks to recover from a hamstring problem in time to face Las Palmas after missing the Tottenham game.
