Big wave surfer Oscar Moncada dies in car accident
It's been a dark weekend for the world of surfing after news was recieved that Moncada had been involved in a fatal accident shortly after the death of Jean Da Silva. Ryder Cup 2018 final day: Europe vs USA, Sunday singles
The world of surfing had only just started mourning the loss of Jean Da Silva when news arrived of the sad passing of big wave surfer Oscar Moncada.
Car accident kills popular surfer Moncada
The Volcom-branded surfer, regularly seen at Puerto Escondido (Mexico), his favorite wave, died in a car accident in which the lives of 3 others were also lost, other locals of this wonderful area.
Oscar Moncada was only 34 years old, he was a fan of sushi, fish tacos and ceviche. He preferred to paddle out to the 5-metre waves in Puerto Escondido and loved to travel around the world - from Europe to Hawaii - in search of surfing adventures. This year he had been ninth in the Puerto Escondido Challenge of the WSL Big Wave Tour.
