Guangzhou Evergrande lining up €72m bid for Aubameyang
According to Chinese media outlet Sina Sports, the Borussia Dortmund striker will sign for the Chinese Super League club next summer.
The Chinese Super League is preparing to flex its financial muscles in the transfer market by launching a bid to lure Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund next summer.
Chinese media outlet Sina Sports reported that Guangzhou Evergrande are plotting a 72 million euro offer for the Gabon striker to join up with former Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari , who will go up against Fabio Cannavaro’s Tianjin Quanjian for Aubameyang’s signature after a failed attempt to sign him last season.
Aubameyang, 28, has scored 21 goals in 23 games for Dortmund this season but has not ruled out a move away from the Bundesliga in the near future and recently suggested he would be interested in joining Atlético Madrid: “Everybody knows they are looking for players and I think Griezmann could leave. Anything can happen.”
Bakambu latest to join Chinese Super League
However, Atlético are unlikely to be able to match the kind of offer Aubameyang will receive from the Chinese Super League, whose latest coup was landing Villarreal striker Cédric Bakambu, who has agreed a deal to join Beijing Guoan for a fee of 40 million euros.
