Zinedine Zidane spoke after Real Madrid's victory over Valencia at the Mestalla on Saturday afternoon.

Feeling: "I am very happy. You have to congratulate the players. We played a great game at at a ground that is never easy but we had to do it. We did it very well and landed the win, that was important."

Real Madrid showing personality: "This is what Real Madrid have. There are difficult moments and this shows that the players have personality. The football is often in your head. The players know what they have to do, not drop their hands....We performed a good tactical game."

Valencia: "They are a direct rival and we have a game in hand. If we win it, we are ahead of them. I am happy with the play in the first half. Today, they did it very well."

The problem not being physical: "We are good. Many times, it is in your head....and that's more difficult. I have healthy players, who train and rest well. I am very happy with the team's attitude. In the second half, Keylor saved us for 15 or 20 minutes, but we deserved the win on the general reckoning of the game. Everything is based on possession."

Benzema's anger: "Everyone is angry when they are changed, but what is important is the result and Karim is happy."

Strengthened by the result: "They will examine me always, every day until the end. That is not going to change. The thing I have to do is keep working."
