Emery: "Obviously I have an XI in my head for Real Madrid"
"Cristiano is their figurehead and the best players in the world always show up in the big games," said the PSG boss ahead of the Champions League clash.
Unai Emery spoke to the press ahead of side’s match this weekend against Toulouse and discussed the upcoming Champions League first leg clash with Real Madrid.
Toulouse: “They are two different games but both very important. We are thinking about the first one. It’s a good chance for a few players to find some rhythm but I’m only thinking about Toulouse at the moment.”
Neymar: “The idea is that he will be in the squad. He has been training very well. That he didn’t play the other day? It was a decision taken with the player.”
Starting 11 against Madrid: “My thinking is about Saturday’s game and anything can happen in training sessions as well. This season we lost against Strasbourg before an important game. Tomorrow we have to put out a team tomorrow that is ready to play and with the conviction that the best preparation is every game.”
On Cristiano: "The best players always show up in the big games"
Doubts in midfield: “The work we have done throughout the season is important and I can’t change a lot between Saturday and Wednesday. It’s true that we signed Lass because Motta has had problems and it was done to help the team. But we have also been working with Rabiot and Lo Celso. We’ll see how Motta is tomorrow. Di María: “I can’t tell you who is going to play on Wednesday because I don’t know what is going to happen between now and Wednesday. Obviously I have an XI in my head but the first thing is tomorrow. Di María is an important player for us and the way he has been playing is good news for us. And his decision to stay at PSG was also important.”
Cristiano Ronaldo: “Madrid are the best team in the world at the moment in terms of titles won and they have some of the best players in the world. Cristiano is their figurehead and the best players in the world always show up in the big games. They have those players and so have we.”
