CHAMPIONS LEAGUE | PORTO 0-5 LIVERPOOL
Klopp lauds goal-machine Salah: "I hope he doesn't stop at 30"
Mohamed Salah hit his 30th goal of the season for Liverpool in Porto last night but manager Jurgen Klopp hopes there is more to come from the forward.
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp hopes his in-form star forward Mohamed Salah will continue banging in the goals for the team after the Egypt international hit the 30-goal mark last night.
Mané hat trick in Porto tonking
Salah was on target once again as Liverpool battered Porto 0-5 in the first leg of their Champions League Last 16 tie on Wednesday with Sadio Mané claiming a hat-trick and Roberto Firmino also on target. Salah meanwhile, is back in the record books - just a couple of months ago, the Egyptian became the second fastest to reach 20 goals for Liverpool (behind prolific Scot George Allan in 1895/6 ), and has now entered the top 10 Liverpool players who have reached 30 goals in one season during the post-War years.
Klopp hopes there is even more to come from Salah: "That he plays a good season, I recognise that already. But it's of course very important for us," the German told reporters after the game. "I think each goal was kind of a winner and that's very important. We spoke about Mo in the last few weeks, completely deserved, but obviously Sadio had his comeback tonight, very good, and Roberto was there again after outstanding work rate again. It was good. Ox [Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain] obviously as well. Congratulations but hopefully he [Salah] will not stop."
