REAL MADRID 1-1 ATLÉTICO DE MADRID

Atletico Madrid player ratings against Real Madrid

It's never a good sign when your goalkeeper is your best player but Oblak was exceptional and Griezmann did well along with more mediocre performances.

Update:
El once del Atlético contra el Real Madrid.
JESUS ALVAREZ ORIHUELADIARIO AS

Oblak: As always, he was one of the best players on his team. In the first half, he rejected Real Madrid four times. In the second half, he had less work but saved Atletico at the end with a save from a Sergio Ramos free-kick.  World class.

Juanfran: Kept his composure and is not the same player he once was with his tendency to overlap. Marked Asensio first and was then forced to pick up Bale, and did a good job on both.

Savic: Returns to the team and is solid as he had been. Quick to cut out diagonal balls when asked, very attentive and has a foul or two in him too.

Godín: Similar to Savic. Had some trouble from set-pieces but they rectified that. Lucky not to give away a penalty on Kroos in the first half.

Lucas: Did not hesitate to attack and was good defending too. He should have done better for Cristiano's goal though.

Vitolo: His lack of minutes was noticed in this one and he was off the pace. His fouls and the early card hurt his game. Involved in Griezmann's goal but has plenty of room for improvement.

Thomas: Atletico march to Thomas' beat in the middle. Good on the ball with plenty of ambition. Changed as he had a yellow from the first half.

Saul: Lost the ball in the middle for Real Madrid's goal and messed up a chance for Costa in the second half too. Played centrally but was very apprehensive in everything he did, which is unusual.

Koke: Was not as involved as usual, and less than he could have liked certainly but was dangerous at times too. Played on the left-hand side and his movement was dangerous. In the second half, he was more involved and could have made it 1-2 if it wasn't for Navas.

Griezmann: Always available on the break and popped up all over the field. Scored a goal in his 200th game for Atletico.

Diego Costa: Had a chance on the counter in the first half but Navas turned it around the post. Fought hard, as always, but just wasn't his day.

Correa: Came on for Vitolo to create danger on the right. Replaced Costa when he went off and didn't do much.

Gabi: Didn't do much and was brought on for Thomas in the second half. Never going to provide as much as Partey going forward and did okay to close the game out when Real Madrid attacked late on.

Gameiro: Came on near the end in an effort to break the deadlock. Didn't get involved at all.
