Shakhtar Donetsk forward Taison has been named alongside the likes of Neymar in Brazil's final 23-man squad for the World Cup.

The 30-year-old, who played only five minutes in World Cup qualifying, has been named as one of four forwards in Tite's squad.

The others are Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar, who is still recovering from a foot injury, Liverpool's Roberto Firmino and Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus.

Corinthians defender Fagner has been called up as the replacement for Dani Alves, who will miss the tournament with a knee ligament injury, while City right-back Danilo is also included.

Fourteen of the 23 players had already been assured of their places, including PSG defenders Thiago Silva and Marquinhos, Barcelona midfielders Philippe Coutinho and Paulinho, and Chelsea's Willian.

Fernandinho, Casemiro, Miranda, Alisson, Marcelo, Renato Augusto, Jesus, Firmino and Neymar were the other certainties.

It means Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa, City goalkeeper Ederson and in-demand Shakhtar midfielder Fred have earned their places, as well as Fagner, Taison, Gremio's Pedro Geromel, Atletico Madrid full-back Filipe Luis and Corinthians keeper Cassio.

Juventus left-back Alex Sandro misses out, as does Chelsea defender David Luiz and Valencia goalkeeper Neto.
