Costa recorded saying "I told you so!" after Koke penalty miss

The footage shows that Diego Costa had clear reservations about his clubmate taking a penalty under such pressure.

Update:
Diego Costa tells Hierro: "I told you so" over Koke penalty miss

On Sunday night, Spain were eliminated from the World Cup following a penalty shootout with Russia, and footage has been released of Diego Costa speaking about his club and country team mate Koke before and during the shootout, which could likely provoke some tension between the two when they return to training at Atlético Madrid.

Despite not taking a penalty himself, Costa was one of the most animated in the huddle moments before the shootout. The Spanish-Brazilian is seen talking with coach Fernando Hierro and teammates Sergio Ramos and Dani Caravajal about the chosen penalty takers, during which he expressed his doubts about Atlético team mate Koke.

"I told you so!"

In the footage, Hierro is seen assuring Costa that “Koke está bien” (“Koke is ok”), after which Costa asks “He’s ok?” with a clear look of disbelief on his face. At that moment, Koke interrupts the conversation, throwing a bottle of water hard against the ground. Ramos asks him if he wants to take a penalty, to which Koke bluntly responds, “Si, si” (“Yes, yes”).

After Koke stepped up to take the third penalty and missed, Costa is seen fixing his eyes on Hierro and uttering a forceful “I told you so!” It seems that Costa’s reservations about Koke’s ability to take a penalty under such pressure were warranted, although it is likely the latter will not be impressed by his club mate’s lack of faith in his abilities.
