Kovac confirms James will stay at Bayern Munich
The new Bayern coach has dispelled rumours linking James Rodriguez with a return to Real Madrid next season.
Bayern Munich’s new coach, Niko Kovac is currently preparing his squad for their first preseason match against PSG in Austria on Saturday in the International Champions Cup.
And in the press conference ahead of Saturday’s encounter, Kovac addressed the speculation surrounding James Rodriguez’s possible return to Real Madrid, stating that he is counting on the Colombian striker for next season and confirming he will stay in Germany.
“We have a valid loan contract and it will only end if we take that option. He’s going to stay here,” said the German-Croatian coach.
James is currently on holidays in Medellin, where he is recovering from the muscle injury he picked up against Senegal in the World Cup, which saw him miss the last 16 defeat to England.
