Bayern Munich are willing to let Chile international Arturo Vidal leave the Allianz Arena this summer after signing highly rated Germany midfielder Leon Goretzka from Schalke on a free transfer.

According to German daily Bild, that has made the 31-year-old Vidal surplus to requirements at Bayern with several European clubs said to be interested in his services.

Atlético Madrid have been linked with the Chile midfielder before and could reignite their interest as they seek a replacement for Gabi, who left the club to join Al-Sadd this summer.

Diego Simeone has added Spain international Rodri to his ranks but is likely to be tempted by a combative midfielder in his own image who will be available at a cut-price rate as he has only one season remaining on his contract.

Bayern would prefer to cash before Vidal’s deal expires in 2019 but Atlético will not have a free run at the Copa Ámerica winner with Napoli, Manchester United and Chelsea also keeping an eye on events.

Vidal underwent surgery on a knee injury that caused him to miss the end of last season but is expected to rejoin his Bayern teammates for the pre-season.
