Did Barça men travel in business and women in economy?
Fans have taken to social media to ask FC Barcelona why there appears to have been a clear divide in the comfort afforded the teams travelling to Portland for pre-season. The USA vs. Ecuador live and direct: Friendly FIFA Date
FC Barcelona have travelled to Portland in the United States of America to compete in the pre-season International Champions Cup. In addition to the squad taken across the Atlantic by Ernesto Valverde, which included thirteen players from the youth team, the women's team accompanied them with Fran Sánchez leading Barcelona Femenino. The Iberia IB2881 flight, model A-340-600, with all on-board, took off from Barcelona airport at 17:15 local time, arriving at its destination at 04:05 hours (19:05 in Portland).
Barça's seating: plane and simple
The club's social media accounts were quick to share pictures and videos of everyone getting on and off the plane, as well as some images of the men's first team settled in their first-class seats. In the VIP section there is no sign of any of the female members of the party, however, further pictures were provided to the fans via personal Instagram accounts.
In those images (check out our gallery below) you can see how the women's team appears to have a very different style of seating, much less spacious and with another type of fabric for the headrest. Sandra Paños herself is one of the players who uploaded photos of their trip.

Social media users, as is often the case these days, were not slow to react. The questions came at a flurry in Barça's direction asking why the men appeared to be travelling in business class while the women were in economy.
Whatever the situation, both sets of players are now in the USA, ready for the next stage of their pre-season preparations.
