Lopetegui on USA game: "I can't see it"
The Real Madrid coach discussed, among other issues, the much-talked-about goalkeeping situation: "I'm not going to say who will play or which competition they will play in".
Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui spoke to the press ahead of his side's game against Girona on Sunday evening (22:15, CEST).
The same fixture last season: "We know what happened last year and we have to be well prepared".
Vinicius: "He's part of our squad. When he joins up with us he will have chances to play, and when he doesn't he will play for Castilla. He's a very young lad who has only just arrived. He's going to do well but he needs time. We'll be monitoring his development and he'll feature when we feel he's ready".
Playing a match in the USA: "I'm with the players. They have their reasons for thinking what they think. I can't see it, but that's just my opinion".
Keepers: "I'm not going to say who will play or which competition they will play in. They have all hit their stride and it's our job to decide. After the international break it will be slightly different because we'll be playing Wednesdays and Sundays".
Transfer market: "I'm focused on getting a magnificent squad to shine and to make sure they are decisive in every game. I'll talk about the great players that are here".
The demands on Bale and Benzema: "We hope that, as a team, we can score those 50 goals that Cristiano got, and without the responsibility falling on just one player. We have to go beyond those numbers with more players scoring and by conceding fewer goals".
