REAL MADRID

Borja Mayoral has three days to find a club

Sevilla and Levante are possible destinations but it is a race against time now or Mayoral will find himself down the pecking order at Real Madrid.

Before Real Madrid decided to buy Mariano, Borja Mayoral was seen as the second striker in Real Madrid's side following the exit of Raul de Tomas. Suddenly, with Real Madrid deciding to use their buy-back option on the Lyon attacker, Mayoral is unsettled and has just three days to find a new club.

It's a complicated situation after Lopetegui said during preseason that he would be counting on Mayoral, and brought him on in the European Super Cup semi-final, but now it is a race against time to make sure he finds a suitable place to play next year.

Sevilla are an option as they were lined up to sign Mariano but obviously can't now. Pablo Machin said one, two or three players could still arrive at the club before Friday ends. Pepe Castro also said that "Mayoral is a player we have looked at in certain moments." However, the friction caused by the Mariano affair means a quick agreement is not likely.

Real Betis have asked about the player this summer and Levante have also poked their heads in. The Spanish market is the only one seen as a possibility with the English and Italian markets closed.

He didn't have too many chances in the United States during the preseason tour and said that "it's better that they don't consider anyone," when asked about Real Madrid signing a striker.
