Edurne congratulates De Gea and tells the haters to shut up
The Spanish singer and girlfriend of the Manchester United goalkeeper celebrated Spain’s win over England at Wembley and sent a message to those who have been critical of her partner.
Spanish singer Edurne, girlfriend of Manchester United and Spain goalkeeper, David De Gea turned to social media to congratulate her partner for his performance in Spain’s 1-2 win over England at Wembley on Saturday night in the Uefa Nations League. De Gea made several saves, including a spectacular one-handed save from a fine Rashford header, and was congratulated by coach Luis Enrique.
Edurne's message to De Gea... and his haters
After the match Edurne sent a short tweet that nevertheless summed up her two messages perfectly: proud of her man, and telling his haters to pipe down. De Gea was subject to vociferous attacks by sections of the public and the media for his performances with Spain in Russia at the World Cup 2018.
Edurne and De Gea: six years strong
The singer and Spain X Factor judge has been going out with De Gea for six years and has constantly supported him in public, particularly on social media. During the World Cup she posed in the Spain goalkeeper’s kit and makes a point of congratulating him whenever possible.
