Nicklas Bendtner accused of assaulting taxi driver
Various witness have stated the Rosenborg striker attacked the driver, who suffered a broken jaw.
Nicklas Bendtner is accused of assaulting a taxi driver in the early hours of Sunday morning in Copenhagen. Local police have confirmed that they are investigating an incident in which an individual was treated in hospital for a broken jaw.
Injured taxi driver requires surgery
According to Danish site bt.dk, Rasmus Krochin, head of communications for the taxi firm where the injured driver worked, confirmed that the Danish striker was involved in the attack.
“I can confirm there was a fairly serious assault on one of our drivers tonight. The driver will undergo surgery due to a broken jaw. The assailant has been reported to the police and I can confirm it is Nicklas Bendtner” he said.
Danish newspaper Elkstra Bladet also confirmed the incident involved the former Arsenal striker and quoted police as saying they received reports of an attack at 2:41am on Sunday morning.
