Pirlo: "Juve are favourites to win the Champions League this year"
"They've assembled a strong squad and are in a position to challenge with the usual suspects who aspire to win the title"
Former Juve great Andrea Pirlo is tipping the "Bianconeri" to lift the Champions League title this season feeling that the Turin based side are "a step ahead of everyone else".
"Juventus can really win the Champions League this season. They've assembled a side that can compete with the usual favourites and I can see them having to dispatch the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Barcelona", ha claimed in an interview with Sky Sport.
Pirlo added that on a domestic level: "Juve are a step or two ahead of the rest. Inter and Napoli have bolstered their squad well and despite the fact that they are excellent teams, to get to Juve's level will require them to pull off something really extraordinary" he affirmed.
He had positive words too for another of his former sides AC Milan: "I've seen them in action and they look good under Gattuso. They have a decent mix of young Italian talent mixed with some good foreign players".
