Ancelotti's Napoli eyeing January move for Real Madrid's Mariano
According to Corriere dello Sport in Italy, the Serie A club are keen to come to an agreement to take their recently returned striker to Naples.
He's not seen much pitchtime since returning to Real Madrid from Lyon at the end of the summer transfer window but that hasn't stopped his admirers. According to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, the young striker is being targeted by Carlo Ancelotti's Napoli.
Mariano on the move?
The reports in Italy are that the move could happen as soon as January, which would strengthen the Serie A side ahead of the business end of the season, when injuries and suspension often play a bigger part. Having already sounded out Genoa for their impressive Polish forward Krzysztof Piątek, the answer that he would defintely not be leaving until the end of season had them looking elsewhere.
Ancelotti is reportedly the person pushing for the Madrid player but whether an agreement can be reached with Los Blancos on either a loan deal or full transfer is yet to be seen. There is no doubt that Mariano is keen to be playing more, and it could be that the future of his current manager, Julen Lopetegui, is a driving factor to his role in the Spanish capital...or elsewhere.
