Sergio Ramos' success rate from the penalty spot is better than Cristiano's
Ramos has successfully converted 8 of the 9 penalties he has taken. Since Cristiano's departure he has becomes the team's penalty taker, with a 100% success rate.

Real Madrid lost a lot of things when Cristiano left to join Juventus last summer - fors starters they found themselves without the man who had provided the lion's share of the team's goals, 450, over the previous nine season - an average of 50 per season. Among those 450 goals, 78 came from the penalty spot, an area in which the Portuguese ace was a specialist, with a conversion rate of 86.7% - 78 converted from 90 taken. Over his whole career, his average is slightly lower (83.3%, 105 out of 126), but it's still an impressive feat. Now Juve's spot-kick taker, duties from 12 yards for Real Madrid have been assumed by Sergio Ramos, whose success rate from the penalty spot is even better than Cristiano's.

Panenka Ramos
Ramos was on target last weekend against Valladolid, scoring his fourth goal of the season - all of them from the penalty spot (Atlético, Girona and Leganés). His success rate from the spot this season is 100% and 88.9% during the whole of his time at the Bernabéu, although he hasn't taken anywhere near as many penalties as Cristiano. Ramos has successfully converted eight of the nine spot-kicks he has taken for Madrid (not including shoot-outs). The only penalty he missed was ironically against his old club, Sevilla, although he managed to redeem himself later by scoring when Madrid were awarded another penalty.

Spot-kicks with Spain
With the national team his figures are quite so good - he has scored three from five, 60%. In total, Ramos has scored 11 times from 14 penalties taken, averaging 78.6% - figures he could improve on this season as the team's regular taker even if he occasionally cedes duties to other members of the side - such as Benzema who put his penalty away against Girona in Week 2.
